BUILT DIFFERENT. BUILT BY GOD

BUILT DIFFERENT - BUILT BY GOD

CHURCH CHALLENGE

This week, do not just ask:
“What am I building?”
Ask:
“What am I building on?”
Because the storm will come.
Culture will shift.
Pressure will rise.
But the life built on Jesus will stand.
Build different. Build by God.

DAY 1

Everyone Is Building Something
Scripture
Psalm 127:1
“Unless the Lord builds the house, they labor in vain who build it.”

Teaching
Every day, we are building.
Our words build.
Our habits build.
Our priorities build.
Our obedience builds.
Our compromise builds too.
The question is not whether we are building. The question is whether God is the builder.
Psalm 127 reminds us that human effort without divine foundation leads to empty labor. We can build careers, houses, platforms, families, and reputations, but if God is not the foundation and builder, what we build cannot carry eternal weight.
A life built by God begins with surrender.

Reflection
What am I currently building with my time, habits, and priorities?

Prayer
Father, I surrender my life to You again. Build what You desire in me. Remove anything that is built on pride, fear, selfishness, or control. Let my life become a house where Your presence is honored. In Jesus’ name, amen.

Activation
Ask God today: “Lord, what am I building that You did not ask me to build?”

Declaration
My life belongs to God. I will not labor in vain. I am being built by the Lord.

DAY 2

The Foundation Determines The Future

Scripture
Matthew 7:24
“Whoever hears these sayings of Mine, and does them, I will liken him to a wise man who built his house on the rock.”

Teaching
Jesus ended the Sermon on the Mount by talking about two builders.
Both heard.
Both built.
Both faced storms.
But only one stood.
The difference was not the storm. The difference was the foundation.
Jesus said the wise builder is the one who hears His Word and does it. Hearing alone is not foundation. Obedience is.
A strong spiritual foundation is built through daily surrender, prayer, repentance, Scripture, faithfulness, and obedience.
If Jesus is only around your life but not under your life, the foundation is still weak.
Christ must be the rock everything is built on.

Reflection

Am I only hearing the Word, or am I doing what Jesus said?

Prayer
Jesus, make me a wise builder. Teach me to build my life on Your Word, not my feelings or opinions. Holy Spirit, help me obey what You reveal. Strengthen my foundation so I can stand when storms come. Amen.

Activation

Choose one teaching of Jesus and intentionally obey it today.

Declaration
Jesus is my foundation. I hear His Word and I obey. My life is built on the rock.

DAY 3

Storms Reveal What We Built On

Scripture
Matthew 7:25
“The rain descended, the floods came, and the winds blew and beat on that house; and it did not fall.”

Teaching

Jesus never said storms might come.
He said they would.
The rain falls.
The flood rises.
The wind blows.
Life tests what we have built.
Storms do not create foundations. They reveal them.
This is why we cannot wait until crisis to start building faith. We build before the storm through prayer, worship, obedience, and commitment.
When your life is built on Jesus, storms may hit you, but they do not have to destroy you.
The same wind that exposes weak foundations proves the strength of a life built on Christ.

Reflection

What recent storm has revealed something about my foundation?

Prayer
Lord, strengthen what is weak in me. Help me not fear storms, but prepare through daily obedience. Holy Spirit, anchor me in Christ so that when pressure comes, I remain faithful. Let my house stand. In Jesus’ name, amen.

Activation
Spend time praying over one area of your life that feels storm-tested right now.

Declaration
I am not built on sand. I am built on Christ. By God’s grace, I will stand.

DAY 4

Fathers Lead With Intent

Scripture
Joshua 24:15
“As for me and my house, we will serve the Lord.”

Teaching
Joshua made a public declaration of spiritual leadership.
He did not say, “As for my house.”
He said, “As for me and my house.”
The weight began with him.
Godly leadership begins with personal surrender. A father cannot lead his family somewhere he refuses to go himself.
This is not about control. It is about responsibility.
A godly man protects, provides, pursues, and priests his home. He sets spiritual direction. He draws holy boundaries. He teaches his family that serving God is not optional, seasonal, or private.
What we tolerate today, our children may accept tomorrow.

Reflection
Where do I need to lead with greater spiritual intent?

Prayer
Father, raise up godly leadership in my home. Help me lead with humility, strength, and conviction. Teach me to set the right example and build a home that honors You. Let my family see Jesus in me. Amen.

Activation
Pray Joshua 24:15 over your home today.

Declaration
As for me and my house, we will serve the Lord.

DAY 5

Build A Legacy Of Faith

Scripture
Psalm 78:6-7
“That the generation to come might know them… that they may set their hope in God.”
Teaching
God’s design is generational.
The Word is given, taught, lived, and passed down.
A godly legacy is more than money, land, houses, or possessions. Those things can be helpful, but they cannot save a soul or sustain a family through spiritual warfare.
The greatest inheritance you can leave is faith.
Teach your children how to pray.
Show them how to worship.
Let them see you repent.
Let them hear you talk about God’s faithfulness.
Let them inherit a faith that can carry them when life gets hard.
A legacy of faith outlives you.

Reflection
What spiritual inheritance am I leaving behind?

Prayer

Lord, let my life leave a legacy that points people to You. Help me pass down faith, not just information. Let my children and spiritual children know Your works, trust Your Word, and serve You with their whole hearts. Amen.

Activation
Share one testimony of God’s faithfulness with someone younger than you.

Declaration
My faith will not end with me. I will pass down hope in God.

DAY 6

Built Different, Built By God

Scripture
1 Corinthians 3:11
“For no other foundation can anyone lay than that which is laid, which is Jesus Christ.”

Teaching
To be built different means we are not built like the world.
We do not build on pride.
We do not build on culture.
We do not build on popularity.
We do not build on convenience.
We build on Christ.
Jesus is the only foundation strong enough to carry our lives, families, callings, and legacy.
If God builds it, it can stand.
If God leads it, it has purpose.
If God breathes on it, it has life.
So build slowly. Build faithfully. Build prayerfully. Build obediently.
Because what is built by God will carry eternal impact.

Reflection
What needs to be rebuilt on Christ in my life?

Prayer
Jesus, You are my foundation. Build my life according to Your will. Tear down what is unstable and strengthen what is eternal. Holy Spirit, help me build with wisdom, obedience, and faith. Let my life bring glory to God. Amen.

Activation
Write this down somewhere visible: “Built Different. Built By God.”

Declaration
I am built on Jesus. I am built different. I am built by God.
