Committed week 3

Weekly challenge

This week, do not just ask:

“What is ahead of me?”

Ask:

“Who am I following?”

Because Ruth did not know Boaz was ahead.

She just knew she was not going back.

Stick with Jesus.

Where He goes, go.

Where He leads, follow.

Where He stays, stay.

Because the One leading you is greater than what you left behind.

I am committed. I am surrendered. I am sticking with Jesus.

This week take notes - write what sticks out to you - and share what god speak to you! And tag the bridge in what you share !

Day 1

Commitment Leaves Moab

Scripture

Ruth 1:16
“Entreat me not to leave you, or to turn back from following after you.”

Teaching

Ruth’s commitment began with a decision to leave what was familiar.

Moab was her homeland. It was what she knew. It represented her past, her people, and her old life.

But Ruth chose to walk away from the familiar and follow Naomi into an unknown future.

That is what real commitment to Jesus requires.

We cannot follow Christ while keeping one hand tied to the old life.

Commitment means there are some places, habits, mindsets, and attachments we cannot keep carrying.

Reflection

What part of my old life have I been tempted to return to?

Prayer

Lord, give me the courage to leave what You have called me out of. Break unhealthy attachments to my past. Help me follow You with a surrendered heart, even when the future is unknown. In Jesus’ name, amen.

Activation

Identify one “Moab” you need to stop returning to.

Declaration

I am not going back. I am following Jesus by faith

Day 2

Commitment Walks By Faith

Scripture

2 Corinthians 5:7
“For we walk by faith, not by sight.”

Teaching

Ruth did not know what was waiting in Bethlehem.

She did not know if she would be accepted.

She did not know if she would remarry.

She did not know Boaz was ahead.

She simply trusted enough to keep walking.

Commitment does not require full details. It requires faith.

Some believers want God to show every step before they obey the first one.

But this is not a sidewalk.

This is a faith walk.

Reflection

Where am I demanding sight before obedience?

Prayer

Father, teach me to trust You when I cannot see the whole road. Help me obey the next step without needing every answer. Strengthen my faith to follow Your voice. In Jesus’ name, amen.

Activation

Take one faith step this week without waiting for full clarity.

Declaration

I walk by faith, not by sight. Jesus holds my tomorrow.

Day 3

Commitment Has Stickability

Scripture

Ruth 1:14
“Orpah kissed her mother-in-law, but Ruth clung to her.”

Teaching

Orpah kissed Naomi goodbye.

Ruth clung.

That word carries the idea of sticking, joining, holding close, and refusing to let go.

Ruth had stickability.

Life will get sticky. Faith will be tested. Questions will come. Bad seasons will happen.

But mature commitment does not unstick because life becomes difficult.

Pentecostal faith is not shallow excitement. It is Holy Spirit-empowered endurance.

It says, “If it is good, I will stick with Jesus. If it is hard, I will stick with Jesus.”

Reflection

Where has life gotten sticky and tempted me to let go?

Prayer

Holy Spirit, strengthen my spirit to endure. Give me holy stickability. When life gets hard, help me cling to Jesus instead of running back to comfort. Keep my heart committed. In Jesus’ name, amen.

Activation

Say out loud today: “I am sticking with Jesus.”

Declaration

I will not unstick because life got sticky. I am clinging to Christ.

Day 4

Commitment Is Not About The Blessing

Scripture

Job 13:15
“Though He slay me, yet will I trust Him.”

Teaching

Ruth did not follow Naomi because she knew Boaz was waiting.

She did not follow because she saw the blessing.

She followed because she loved Naomi and trusted the covenant relationship.

This is where our faith gets tested.

Are we following Jesus for what He gives, or because of who He is?

Jesus is not just the giver of blessing.

Jesus is the blessing.

Even if the answer is delayed, even if the season is hard, even if we do not get what we wanted, He is still worthy.

Reflection

Have I been more committed to the blessing than to the Blesser?

Prayer

Jesus, forgive me for the times I have followed You only for what I wanted from You. Teach me to love You for who You are. You are enough for me. Keep my heart loyal in every season. Amen.

Activation

Spend five minutes worshiping Jesus without asking Him for anything.

Declaration

Jesus is my blessing. I will follow Him in every season.

Day 5

Commitment Requires Surrender

Scripture

Luke 9:23
“If anyone desires to come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow Me.”

Teaching

Ruth’s words were more than emotion.

They were covenant.

“Where you go, I will go.”

“Your people shall be my people.”

“Your God, my God.”

That is surrender.

To follow Jesus, we do not get to lead Him. He leads us.

Commitment means His way becomes greater than our way. His will becomes greater than our preference. His kingdom becomes greater than our comfort.

If we are going to stick, we have to surrender.

Reflection

What area of my life am I still trying to control?

Prayer

Lord, I surrender my plans, my preferences, and my control. Teach me to follow instead of trying to lead You. I lay myself down again and choose Your will above mine. In Jesus’ name, amen.

Activation

Pray this today: “Jesus, where You go, I will go.”

Declaration

I surrender to Jesus. His way is my way.

Day 6

DAY 6 — Commitment Leads To Bethlehem

Scripture

Ruth 4:14
“Blessed be the Lord, who has not left you this day without a close relative.”

Teaching

Ruth walked into Bethlehem empty, but she did not stay empty.

She did not know Boaz was ahead.

She did not know restoration was waiting.

She did not know her story would become part of the lineage of Jesus.

She simply stayed committed.

Bethlehem became the place where God reversed loss.

That is what Jesus does.

He takes surrendered steps and turns them into testimony.

You may not see the full picture right now, but keep walking.

Stick with Jesus.

Reflection

Where do I need to trust that God is still able to reverse loss?

Prayer

Father, I trust You with my future. Lead me to the place of restoration. Even when I feel empty, remind me that You are not finished. Let my story bring glory to Jesus. Amen.

Activation

Write down one area where you are believing God for restoration.

Declaration

God can reverse loss. I will keep walking with Jesus.
