DEVOTIONS

It’s Time to Get Up

Weekly Charge

This week, don't just read the devotional.
  • Pray through it.
  • Journal through it.
  • Discuss it with someone.
  • Share what God shows you.
Because revival was never meant to stop with one person.
It spreads through families.
It spreads through churches.
It spreads through communities.
And it begins when God's people decide:
It's time to get up. ?

DAY 1

THE VALLEY
Ezekiel 37:1-2
"The hand of the Lord came upon me and brought me out in the Spirit of the Lord and set me down in the midst of the valley."
One of the most overlooked details in Ezekiel's vision is this:
God put him there.
The valley was not an accident.
The valley was not a punishment.
The valley was a classroom.
Before God showed Ezekiel revival, He first showed him reality.
Many believers pray:
"God, get me out."
But God often says:
"First, I want you to see what I'm about to transform."
Throughout Scripture, God repeatedly takes His people into places that reveal their true condition.
  • Moses spent 40 years in a wilderness.
  • Elijah sat beside a dried-up brook.
  • Israel stood before an impossible Red Sea.
  • The disciples waited in an Upper Room.
Why?
Because revival rarely begins with celebration.
Revival usually begins with revelation.
God exposes what is dry because He intends to breathe on it.
Revival is not God making bad people good.
Revival is God awakening His people to His presence again.
Historically, every major revival began when believers became aware of their spiritual need.
The Welsh Revival.
Azusa Street.
The Hebrides Revival.
Each began when people became dissatisfied with spiritual normalcy.

Reflection
What areas of my life have become spiritually routine?
Have I become comfortable with less than God's presence?

Prayer
Father,
Do not allow me to settle for shallow Christianity.
Expose every place where I have become spiritually numb.
Show me where routine has replaced relationship.
Show me where activity has replaced intimacy.
Give me a holy dissatisfaction with anything less than Your presence.
Lead me deeper.
Awaken my hunger.
Awaken my heart.
Awaken our church.
In Jesus' name.
Amen.

DAY 2

REVIVAL BEGINS WHEN WE STOP AGREEING WITH THE VALLEY
Scripture
Ezekiel 37:3
"Son of man, can these bones live?"
God's question was never about the bones.
It was about Ezekiel's perspective.
The enemy works hard to convince believers that present conditions are permanent conditions.
But God's kingdom does not operate by what is visible.
It operates by what He has spoken.
When Ezekiel looked naturally, he saw death.
When God looked spiritually, He saw destiny.
The Church today faces the same challenge.
Will we agree with culture?
Will we agree with fear?
Will we agree with statistics?
Or will we agree with God?
Faith is not denying reality.
Faith is believing God's authority is greater than reality.

Supporting Scriptures
Romans 4:17
2 Corinthians 5:7
Hebrews 11:1

You see, the Church has always emphasized expectancy.
The Holy Spirit produces supernatural expectation because He continually points believers toward what God can do.

Reflection

What am I currently agreeing with that God never said?

Prayer
Lord,
Forgive me for repeating the language of defeat.
Teach me to speak the language of faith.
Where fear has spoken loudly, let Your voice become louder.
Help me see beyond present circumstances and into Your promises.
Give me eyes to see what You see.
Amen.

DAY 3

THE WORD ALWAYS PRECEDES THE WIND
Scripture
Ezekiel 37:4
"Prophesy to these bones."
This may be the most important principle in the entire chapter.
God sent the Word before He sent the wind.
Before movement came proclamation.
Before revival came revelation.
Before life came truth.
Why?
Because God never separates His Spirit from His Word.
The healthiest churches throughout history have been churches where Word and Spirit operated together.
Word without Spirit becomes lifeless religion.
Spirit without Word becomes emotional instability.
God desires both.
This is why Pentecost happened after Jesus spent three years teaching truth.
The Spirit empowers what truth establishes.

Supporting Scriptures
John 17:17
Hebrews 4:12
2 Timothy 3:16

The Holy Spirit never contradicts Scripture.
Everything the Spirit does points us back to Christ and His Word.

Reflection
How seriously do I take God's Word?

Prayer
Father,
Give me a love for Scripture.
Open my understanding.
Let Your Word become more than information.
Make it a transformation.
Challenge me.
Correct me.
Strengthen me.
Build my life upon truth.
Amen.

DAY 4

THE BREATH OF GOD IS THE DIFFERENCE
Scripture
Ezekiel 37:8-10
The bones were assembled.
The bodies were formed.
Everything looked complete.
Yet there was still no life.
This is a sobering picture.
A church can have structure without life.
A believer can have knowledge without passion.
A ministry can have activity without power.
The difference is the breath of God.
The Hebrew word used here is Ruach.
It means:
  • Wind
  • Breath
  • Spirit
This is the same Spirit present at creation.
The same Spirit that filled the Temple.
The same Spirit poured out in Acts 2.
The same Spirit who indwells believers today.

Supporting Scriptures
Genesis 2:7
John 20:22
Acts 2:1-4
Romans 8:11

Food for Thought
The Holy Spirit is not merely an experience.
He is the active presence of God empowering believers for holy living and Kingdom purpose.

Reflection
Have I been depending more on effort than the Spirit?

Prayer
Holy Spirit,
Breathe upon me.
Fill every dry place.
Fill every weary place.
Fill every discouraged place.
Renew my strength.
Restore my joy.
Reignite my passion for prayer.
Reignite my burden for lost people.
Let Your presence become the defining mark of my life.
Amen.

DAY 5

GOD DIDN'T RAISE A CROWD—HE RAISED AN ARMY
Scripture
Ezekiel 37:10
"An exceedingly great army."
God's goal was never simply resurrection.
His goal was purpose.
Revival always produces a mission.
Whenever God awakens His people, He sends His people.
A revived church becomes an evangelistic church.
A revived believer becomes a witnessing believer.
A revived family becomes a light in the community.
God does not breathe life into people so they can remain spectators.
He breathes life into them so they can advance His Kingdom.

Supporting Scriptures
Acts 1:8
Matthew 28:19
Ephesians 6:10-18

Reflection
How am I helping advance God's Kingdom?

Prayer
Lord,
Raise me up for Your purposes.
Use my life.
Use my family.
Use my gifts.
Use my testimony.
Help me become part of what You are doing in our church and community.
Make me available to Your mission.
Amen.

DAY 6

FLOURISHING IS THE FRUIT OF REVIVAL
Scripture
Psalm 92:13-14
"Those who are planted in the house of the Lord shall flourish."
Notice where flourishing happens.
Not in isolation.
Not in independence.
Not in spiritual consumerism.
Flourishing happens when people remain planted.
Revival is not an event.
Revival is a lifestyle of remaining connected to God's presence and God's people.
The enemy wants believers isolated.
God calls believers planted.
Healthy roots produce lasting fruit.
The same Spirit that raised the army in Ezekiel's valley now works through Christ's Church.
God's desire has never changed.
He still raises.
He still restores.
He still renews.
He still breathes.

Supporting Scriptures
Acts 2:42-47
Hebrews 10:25
Romans 8:11
Acts 3:19

Reflection
Am I planted deeply enough to flourish?

Prayer
Father,
Plant me deeply in Your presence.
Plant me deeply in Your house.
Plant me deeply in biblical community.
Let my life produce fruit that remains.
May revival not be a moment for me.
May it become a lifestyle.
And may The Bridge become a church where Your presence is welcomed, Your Word is honored, and Your Spirit is free to move.
In Jesus' mighty name.
Amen.
